Hi, I live in Kitsilano. I have a Peter's Honey Fig tree, approximately 8 years old now, that I bought from the City of Vancouver. It just doesn't seem to be cold-hardy enough for my backyard and I am finally ready to give up on it. Do you live in a warmer area (maybe Tsawwassen?) or have a hot spot that would suit it? Free to the taker. Warning: you will probably need a pickup truck to take it, or do some severe pruning on it, as it is quite big. It's around 10-12 feet high and the biggest diameter of the trunk is around 4-5" at the base. I would be happy to help you dig it up, and I do own more than one shovel. And if this is not the right forum for a tree give-away, or if you have any other ideas for places I might post this, please let me know.
