Identification: does anyone know what type of plant this is

    it's Aglaonema or Chinese evergreen.

    They do well in bright indirect light, hot sun can burn the leaves. Let the soil galmost dry between waterings. As the stem grows the lower leaves tend to fall. You can easily take several stem cuttings (springtime) and plant them near the stump of the one you just cut for a more fuller looking pot.These plants grow spath flowers, much like a peace lily.
