Hi, I planted a fig tree last year. According to some sources, I probably should have cut it down to about 6" right away to encourage it to branch nearer the ground, but I didn't know about that at the time. Should I cut it short now, or do the buds mean it's too late already this year? The tree currently comes up to the height of my nose.
