I was told to wait until my large calla lily died down during the winter, in Portland, Oregon, before dividing. However, the plant continued sending out new shoots throughout the winter. It is now in full growth and threatens to take over the entire bed.

Is it possible, even now, to shear off some of the growth from behind and on the sides of the plant?

    Thanks for your advice.

Yeah no problem, I do it all the time. Just get a sharp spade and chop down and away you go...
