We recently purchased a Dappled Willow (about four feet in height) and were told that the plant was grafted onto some form of Pussey Willow stock. We could not get a straight answer as to what height this plant would eventually attain. We liked it so much we purchased it anyway. Any info on maximum height and width of the crown wouls be appreciated. thanks.

Plan on maybe 10' x 10' head, above the stock (trunk). Such things are not cast in stone, plus trees stop growing larger only when they die or enter a phase of dying back.

After it is well established and growing vigorously you can cut it back nearly to stubs at the end of winter each year or two and get more colorful foliage. This will also prevent it from growing as big a head as it would otherwise.

Thanks Ron, that's larger (10' X 10') than are Pussey Willow's crown but we keep that one trimmed to about 6" X 4'. We are are hoping to do the same with this one but were looking forward to height of about 10' to 12'. Thanks for the input.
