Just wanted to share this photo of my handsome cycad, Zamia vazquezii. This plant is 9 years old now. Cycads grow very slowly and make great pot plants for that very reason. I am hoping it will soon produce a cone.
That's really unusual, I've never seen one as a houseplant over here. It's almost tree like isn't it.
Actually, it is more like a delicate bamboo. The pot is a one-gallon size, more or less, and the fronds are about two feet hanging down. I really like the look, and it is so easy to care for -- doesn't mind if you forget to water it for weeks at a time!
