I am new to northern-climate gardening and need some advice. I planted a Malus sargentii last fall from a 15-gal pot, following all planting and mulching instructions. In the spring all branches flowered out and produced fruit, but many branches did not leaf out and some produced only small leaves. The non-leafy branches are still alive. It has always had supplemental water in addition to rainfall. It did have a 2-week period without supplemental water when I was out of town shortly after it was planted -- but the weather was cool and it had been deeply watered when planted. Is there anything I can do now to correct the problem or help it succeed next spring? Carmen
