    Merry Christmas all.
I’ve inherited a row of Malus ioensis Rubra that are struggling badly.
Foliage is blackened, distorted and falling early.
The cambium tissue on the trunks is receeding.
    They’re not well at all.
I’m planning to remove the row, improve the soil and plant another species.
interestingly, the neighbouring ioensis Plena are quite happy.
Regardless of dispatching them, I’m intrigued to whether their problem is environmental or disease

Looks like an apple cancer (Neonectria or Nectria) to me.
