This tree is growing in my back yard and nobody seems to know its name, I live in southern california.
Cedrus sp. These are very popular ornamentals, somebody at an outdoor plant nursery should know the tree. Determination of exact species requires a closer look. Take a twig specimen, ideally with cones, to a nursery - or post a good closeup photo.
I have the same tree in my front yard in East Vancouver, however it does not grow any cones. does not having cones make it not a Diadora?
Deodar Cedar is often shy at producing cones, and typically not before it is 40-50 years old. So no great surprise if yours doesn't have any. PS the correct spelling for the scientific name is Cedrus deodara ;-)
Thanks everyone for your feedback! I had it confirmed as well by Conway from Mandeville Gardenworks, he knows a lot about them and just about every other tree out there.
