Does anyone know about contorted mulberry trees that have not yet bore fruit? and i have planted this tree about 2 1/2 feet from my foundation - will it need to be moved? it was planted as a skinny tree about 7 to 8 feet tall and in no time flat - - it is full and wide and taller than my house. i bought this tree from a rare plant nursery - - lost the paperwork obviously - - will post a pic later thanks
i planted this twisted tree that is getting quite large about 2 1/2 feet maybe 3 feet from my foundation - - do you think i should relocate it? this tree doesn't have anything - no hanging things - no fruit - just twisted branches and very large leaves - they are green in summer and gone in fall - do you think that this tree is in fact a contorted mulberry?
And it probably doesn't matter what kind of tree it is, any tree planted that close to your foundation that is taller than the house needs to be moved, or REmoved; that is to say, it may be too big to move and you might just need to cut it down. It probably isn't going to stop growing, and in that process the trunk diameter will continue to increase, and the roots will continue to spread and invade.
Raintree says it fruits. http://www.raintreenursery.com/catalog/productdetails.cfm?ProductID=D410 I've seen a couple planted in two different sites in this regions rapidly grow more than 8 feet across (seems to grow wider than high, at least initially) so the small mature sizes (such as 6 to 8 feet) given for this do not seem accurate.
