Hello all, revisiting the forums after months spent visiting nurseries and websites. I accept, given proximity to the house that my focal plant must be a shrub. I'm interested in Heptacodium m. due to size, shape, and multi-season appeal. This would replace a Tsuga mertensiana (sp?) in my garden plan, which I saw, but could not love. Does anyone know where I can obtain a Heptacodium here in the Lower Mainland, and if there is any way to determine what colour the sepals will have? I realize these make their show when little else is blooming, but I'd like to make sure I have a nice array of companion plants that accommodate its many guises.
