I am wondering if anyone has had success growing avocados in containers? If you have had success in fruiting them, what cultivar do you have and where is it growing? I have had a 'Littlecado' for 7 years, 5 in a large container (20 inches in diameter and 18 inches high) and 2 in the ground with no success. It flowered every year except one cold winter where it sustained minimal frost damage. It has been growing less than 50 feet from a mature productive 'Hass' tree. I'm hoping that this will be the year since it is looking really healthy and has put on 3 feet of new growth.
