Hi all! Am raising some very small young dwarf congested leaf maples--Ap Japanese Princess. Wondering if the first and only congested leaf bunch should be thinned to all air circulation amongst the leaves.... We are in western Massachusetts where it is hot and drought-struck this year. Stay cool, Deb
Hi Deb, yes I would definatly thin out to get light and air to your maples. This is something I do every Summer. If they are too conjested then you will get a lot of dead wood if not thinned out.
