I have an old concord grape vine that I have just cut way back. It has been growing on a small fence but I would like to train it over a new arbor. I'm thinking this will help produce more and better fruit. Any suggestions on size and how to build an arbor would be greatly appreciated. Also any good reading materials about growing concord grapes. Thank you.
For training and pruning an old Concord grapevine, I recommend: The Cavendish Encyclopedia of Pruning and Training, by Christopher Brickell and David Joyce, by Cavendish Books Inc. 1996. pages 288-294.
