There are about 50 potato plants in my garden. This morning I found one Colorado Potato Beetle, only one. Last year I found only one. From past experience I am familiar with the damage they can inflict particularly on potatoes. One long weekend several years ago they almost demolished my potatoes. This was the days of DDT and it was marvellous for demolishing them. As a child we used to use something called Paris Green, if I remember correctly. For a few I will pick them off.
Here is more info about this insect.
