I have grown a cutting of clematis since last summer. I have it planted now and it is doing well but I have no idea what type it is so therefore I don't know which kind of pruning job I should give it?
Does anyone know which pruning style is most likely? Are most clematis blooming on the current growth for example?

Late flowering types bloom on new growth, but the early and mid-summer types bloom on secondary stems.
I would recommend that you wait until it flowers. To see "when" it flowers" and the "colour".....both will give you clues as to when to prune.
