With all these lemon leaves dropping and no fruit, can the leaves (Meyer Lemon/Grapefruit) be used for steeping tea? There is such a difference in fragrance, I wondered if there would be such a difference in flavor. Are these leaves even eatable? There are so many types of teas (red, white, black, green), maybe citrus? Very new to the botanical world! I've had two Meyer Lemons for three years now, and a nine year old grapefruit tree I started from seed. I take them in every Winter (Midwest), and they loose some leaves, but always come back. Welcome any comments!

It's a qualified 'Yes' for lemon leaves according to this document.
However note what is considered to be lemon is in question. There are references in other documents of C. hystrix leaves being used for tea. Even if the statement applies to C. limon, it does not specify which variety can be used in this way.

This (.pdf) document also suggests the use of lemon leaves in teas.

Based on what has been presented, such use is far from certain.

    Thanks Junglekeeper!
I'm brand new on this site, and I've read tons of useful advice throughout these threads, and your name appears quite a bit. Thank you for answering, and for those other bits of advice throughout!
I'll let you know how the tea mix works out!
