    chisio vs chishio
Using the old 'Kun Rei' system of romanization (putting it into the English/Roman alaphabet), the spelling is: CHISIO. Using the 'Hepburn'/'Modified Hepburn' system of romanization, the spelling is: CHISHIO. Both spellings should be pronounced the same: CHISHIO. The Modified Hepburn System of Romanization became popular during the Occupation Period (post WW II). In 'Kana' or the traditional Japanese alphabet, there is no way to distinguish 'SHI' from 'SI'; but that system has been modified to accomodate for words of foreign origin.

    Thank you for the analysis.
If I understand well, then the two versions are correct.
