    Hi Guys

I recently started planting twilight chilli and cherry tomatoes. They quickly started to grow, now however, their leaves started to turn blue/black and i dont know why. I water them regularely and the water drains well (i think it does at least). Also the soil seems to have mushroom type stuff growing on it (I bought it in a plant center, so was supposed to be good turf)

Does anyone know why this is occeuring? is it normal? will they recover? Why? How?

    Thanks a lot,
    Adrian

I don't like the look of the white stuff. I think I would scrape it off and replace the soil. I would guess that the air circulation is not very good. Maybe try setting up a fan to gently blow on the plants. Tomatoes will grow much stronger stems if they get a bit a breeze when they are growing. I also think your pots may be too big. Most veggies do much better when started in small pots and transplanted as needed, especially with tomatoes. You should plant them deeper each time as roots will grow up the stem giving them stronger roots.

Hopefully they will survive, but if your have some more seed I would plant them in little pots.

    Good luck!

The purpling on the leaves is pretty normal for twilight chilis, but I agree completely with Jan - you need to change that soil and replant into smaller pots.
