This tree was planted a week ago. It's 15 feet tall and it's leaves are turning yellow and falling off. The trunk has holes and spongy spots. I have a hard time believing they developed in a weeks time. Is death eminent?
Planted out of a pot or dug up out of the ground, cutting roots in the process. Leaves yellowing and following presumably related to it being moved/handled. Possibly trunk was impacted at point that damage has been noticed, otherwise, yes it would presumably be a pre-existing condition.
