Hi, I have a Cherry tree that I grew last year. After the winter the leaves didn't grow at the buds. But it's growing at the bottom. Any advice on how I can save the tree? Attached Picture 1 shows the leaves are not growing at the top and Picture 2 shows the leaves at the bottom.
It appears that the only leaves on the tree are growing from below the graft union. If that is the case, the only way to save the tree is to let one stem from the rootstock grow this year and then graft a new cherry on it next year. You will get much faster results by just replacing it with a new tree.
