I live in Ontario (York region) and my cherry tree (sweet Bing cherry) doesn't seem to be blooming after the winter. I planted it last Spring. The trunk looks strong and healthy and the branches are a nice red colour. But I broke a few buds and they seem to be very dry. All my other trees in the garden are already blooming.
Is there something I need to do?

    Thanks

Sounds like it has failed. Maybe it got too cold. Wait and see if it leafs out later. Sometimes a climate is too severe for the flower buds of a plant but the leaves and stems can survive.

Orchard varieties of sweet cherry trees are prone to all kinds of problems.

Thanks Ron. Actually now the buds have turned green and the leaves are popping out.
Last dormant season I had to spray a copper Bordo spray. Do you know when I need to start applying it this year?

Great auroran! I'm in Rockwood and my sour cherry is in full bloom right now. Not alot of honey bees but lots of bumble bees. I hope they do a good job with the pollenation. How is your tree doing now?
