Ok, so while we are playing ‘I.D the tree’ here are 2 more. I know what they are but it’s just a teaser. I’ve been waiting for this one to replace the tree that has just been discussed.

Well I went for root canal at the dentist this morning and I figured I needed a treat for being suck a brave boy ;-) lol. Now sure about the name but this one has got branch structure that screamed at me. I wasn’t planning on spending the best part of £50 but the trunk girth and form tells me me that that was a bargain. I know very little about this tree, regarding light requirements etc, so I repotted in my preferred medium mix/consistency and spent about an hour looking at around it pruning what what think it didn’t need etc.. Overall I’m very happy with it. Apart from the name :-(

You will be, but I agree the name is a bit 'Naf' as they say.

The nursery people who introduced it must have been fans of the Rolling Stones ;0)

Or tea-totals maybe. In France we never used brown caster sugar for tea or coffe at the time of the Rolling Stones hit, but it's getting more popular these days and I always take cane sugar lumps with my morning coffee. I must be a bit of a snob...

PS : I had to look up "naf". Is it "A British slang word for if something is bad, or went badly" ?...

I don't think that Mick was referring to your tea or coffee Alain.

We remember that song Alain, as we are of a certain age, so I agree the nursery who created this one might also be , but I wonder if Luke does. Lol.

Also known as 'JWW7' so I think Brown Sugar is a lot better tham that. Red winter young stems also apparently.

From Acer palmatum 'JWW7' (Brown Sugar)

    Hmmm...
You mean like the friends I had before I went to Dundee, Scotland, and tried a couple of things thinking "Well, another place, another day, and no temptations any longer when I'm in a new place with new people" ?
At that time, this was a kind of "safety belt", experiencing things like a late teenager wants to do not to sound uptight, and I don't regret meeting a girlfriend there, and Scots that were, OK, heavy drinkers at the weekend, but jolly good fellows... ;0)
A year later, when back to France, some of these "friends" were either dead or in prison.
I met a girl that became my new "best love" of my life, huh huh. She's still a good friend of mine.

Couldn't agree more Alain, wonderful people and country. Always made me very welcome whenever I played golf there in my youth.
BTW you saying 'Jolly good fellows' is so very 1940-50's English, lol.

Good morning everyone, I thought I would have a very early start to the day as a storm is heading this way later. So here are a few photos, including my new Olivia that arrived yesterday.
Aureum, Trompenburg, Sazanami, Black Lace, Edna Bergman Mirte, Emma, Beni hoshi, Koyasan, Ruslyn in the pink, Ko Yuki Goshiki-shidare English Town, Olivia x2.

Olivia now planted in front of Shin-Deshojo a few minutes ago. I thought the contrast will look nice over the coming years.

Now this has definitely put a big smile on my face this morning, I've wanted one for so long. It was the first one I fell in love with when I got my little maple book, but couldn't find one until recently.

Crickey, I've just seen the forecast, gales and rain, so I've decided to take some appropriate measures
