Some of us on this side of the pond know the site www.florama.fr, run by nurseryman Jacques Urban. He has very interesting trees and seeds, of some maples and also rare species of oak, birch, acacia, eucalyptus, etc. Planting these trees in our gardens is a real chance to participate in increasing biodiversity, as well as the preservation of rare species.

    M. Urban is taking retirement in 2016, and so is no longer propagating I believe, but selling off stock. Because of his status he is no longer required to charge the value added tax, either.

    cheers,

    -E

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed browsing the variety and pictures in their seed catalogue:

I am not much of a seed grower due to time and space constraints, but for someone who is into growing seeds, that site has a lot to offer. I was very tempted, but most enjoyed browsing the vast variety of plants.

I already ordered plants from them, my latest acquisition was 3 Acer discolor seedlings last October.

I hope that the nursery will survive one way or another...
