Hi ! I have to remove part of a very old cedar hedge - it is encrouching on city property - and am not sure how deep the roots are - as well they must intertwine - am I able to remove without killing more than I am taking out?? thanks...

    Hello Elanore,

You will have a bare end where the removed one joined into the main hedge. How big is the hedge?

Once the top is taken off it won't re sprout so you should be able to cut the trunk level with the ground and let it rot naturaly or get it ground out by one of those stump grinders.

Any one else help here who knows the area.

    Liz
