Hello! i was wondering if anybody had any ideas about keeping cats from using my garden bed as a litter box. in one of my last posts asking about using seaweed in the garden, a woman mentioned using eel grass as a mulch, and it keeps cats out of her greenhouse... WOW! great! any other ideas?!? Thanks! ~erin ps: (and is it just plain stupid of me to try to get my catmint to grow bushy and have big pretty purple flowers?!?! ... my cat sits by it and munches it down... hahaha i guess i grow it for her enjoyment as much as mine)
They go for bare, dry soil or fine-textured mulches resembling the clay in litter box. The less like a litter box the site is, the less cat action it will see. Covering soil with cobbles or close planting both adequate.
