Anyone know when Canna Lilies flower? Mine are huge! The leaves are beautiful, but I'm waiting for some flowers, any ideas when they flower? This is my first year with them.
Hi Paulina; As you know I have about 40 varieties, I am pretty sure you got these from me. Most of mine are flowering now or just about to. You will be able to see the fomation of flowers on the spike. Some of mine go 8 feet high. Hope you are enjoying the garden: Ian
Yes, these are the ones from you Ian. Thanx. 8 feet?!! Wow! I thought mine were huge at 5 feet... yes, very much enjoying my garden... Looks like a very colorful jungle, everyone's enjoying it in the neighbourhood.
They love the sun and the heat. Mine has really started to bloom in ernest. I believe that some of the smaller starts may not flower in it's first year, and needs to build up sufficient mass first. But yours sound like a good size. So, patience may be all there is to it.
they are acually not a lily therefore they should not be called canna lily but should just be called canna(s)
