Hi everyone! I was just cleaning the top shelf in my laundry room and came across 2 packs of canadian white spruce seeds. My hubby said they were giving them away at wal-mart last summer, but forgot about them. Would they still be good to try and plant or should I bother? Is there anything special to do with them or do I just throw them in some dirt? Im used to flower and veggie seeds, not trees!

    Thanks!

They might still be OK, but the storage conditions sound less than perfect, so germination might be slow and poor. Give them a month of cold, moist pre-treatment (in damp sand at +1°C) to help germination. Then sow in a well-drained soil type.
