Now people are leaving their half dead plants in my garden...can anyone help me identify this one so I can attempt to save it?

Agreed. But...why are people leaving plants in your garden?
This one looks pretty good to me. Wish people around here would do some drive-by phalaenopsis tossing! That'd be great!
Get this plant potted up with nice fresh orchid bark, keep it in a bright not broiling location, mist well, and (barring disaster) you should have a good healthy phal.

Because they know you will look after it (them?).

Thanks for the advice, I read up on them yesterday and am quite excited for my first orchid...People leave me these things when they don't know how to care for them, they probably thought it was dead when the flowers fell.

As a matter of fact nearly every plant I own was thrown out by someone and rescued. Such a great hobby, wish I had made a living out of it...now that semi-disability has kicked in I might have to.

Thanks for all the help, this forum is a great tool for us amateurs; I've learned so much from all of you.

I once had someone drop a letterbox full of Tillandsia or Old Mans Beard. Don't know who did it and still don't know. Strange...
