Can anyone identify this brown mold?
This was found in the doorway between my bedroom and master bathroom and I'm wondering if it could be the cause of some health issues I've been experiencing since moving into this house 1.5 years ago. Any information would be much appreciated.

    Hi @flowergirl84
Mold identification usually requires microscopy (and specialist knowledge). Having said that, mold experts can sometimes identify molds w/o microscopy, that are common and/or common to particular habitats (in a given region). The colour strikes me as less typical, so perhaps that will be a strong character.
I am not aware of any mold experts amongst the members of this forum ... however, new folks join all the time, so if there is one, hopefully they will comment.
Sorry to hear of your health challenges and I hope they get resolved soon.

    Thank you for the response.
Yes, I resorted to asking around because I was unable to find anything else that looked quite like this in my (very amateur) research.

Can't see your Imgur images. A blank page opens only. Some geolocation restrictions maybe?
    Upload your photos here instead.

Looks like a Stachybotrys chartarum. But to be sure, it still needs research under a microscope.
    See Stachybotrys Selective Agar
    Cladosporium
is also an option. These are two most common dark molds indoors.

I am not an expert. My suggestion is based only on knowledge, what are the most common molds indoors.
