I live fairly high up in North Vancouver but have a good south-facing backyard. I would like to know if nectarines can be grown successfully in my location> If so, what kind would be best for the lower mainland?

I planted a " Harko" nectarine three years ago in the open and it seems to be doing well. I havent let the flower buds sey yet, as I am incouraging more growth. This year it is now budding profusely and I am nipping the buds close to the stalk to promote wider branching. It doesn't seem to be bothered with leaf curl, which appears to be the main problem with these plants in the open to our rain.
Next to it is a " Frost" peach that did very well after 4 years.

    All is possible.
