It is over 6 feet tall and is finicky about watering. Many leaves were turning yellow and dropping off -- this is still a concern. I have been told that its common name could be ming aralia and that it is a polyscias. However, in pictures I have seen of the ming aralia, the leaves appear a little different. The leaves of this plant at first glance appear to be round, but on closer inspection they are jagged at the tips and each leaf is of two parts -- they are split at the outer edge leaving one large leaf and a smaller leaf that are joined. Kind of like mittens! Thanks.
Looks like a Polyscias Cv. http://www.hear.org/starr/hiplants/images/thumbnails/html/polyscias_guilfoylei.htm HTH Chris
your examples of Polyscias Cv. are close ... but I do not see any that have the type of leaves that mine has. Thanks for your response, we are getting closer.
