I picked up a Caladium at the farmer's market over the weekend because I couldn't pass up these leaves! I've never had a Caladium before and am gathering information. My understanding is that Caladiums need a dormancy period around late Fall. How do you know when to stop watering? Any other Caladium tips would be more than welcome, too. Thanks!
caldiums will need bright indirect light for the spring and summer, in the fall their leaves will naturally begin to fade and fall off. When you see this happen reduce the waterings until all the leaves are gone. Remove the tubers from the soil and store in a cool dark place for the winter. In the spring pot back up,place in bright light and water; new shoots should develop in a week or so. Hope this helps.
