So I recently bought a few cacti, and they've been doing fine. But I just got back from a 2 day trip and one of them have turned completely pale on one side while remaining perfectly green on the other. So basically I'm wondering what I should do?(would post pics but don't know how)
Hello there. My friend has once such situation...and it turned out that his cactus was rotting. He was taking of him care properly, watering him time to time and providing good conditions, but he doesn't know till today what was the cause of it. Hmm..Maybe the cause of your problem is that you overwater your cactus? They also do not like too high temperatures and hot sun. Post picture, it may help.
Which side turned white - toward the window or away from it? I would guess sunburn, but I am not very knowledgeable about this.
Looks like sunburn to me as well. It happens easily if a cactus is placed outside without a period with gradually increasing exposure to ultraviolet light first. Sensitive specimens can be sunburnt even behind a single pane of glass.
Oh thank the lord! The side that turned white was turned toward the sun, i switched sides and put them in a more shady place, thanks guys!
