Four 'Shiro-fugen' trees on Chesham avenue between Gilpin street and Price street are blooming nicely.
Three 'Shiro-fugen' trees at Burnaby Civic Square this morning, one tree close to the library building is almost in full bloom, and other two trees are only blooming at 40%.
Thanks to @Tao31 for finding and posting these trees, and to @Douglas Justice for their history. The 'Pink Perfection' is a knock-out. The name isn't a misnomer after all. By the time I tore myself away from that tree, I was 75 minutes late for a rehearsal. I forced myself to discard four photos. These flowers definitely have the raspberry swirl ice-cream look that @Ron B described many years ago. The 'Ito-kukuri' is very nice too.

Several young 'Shiro-fugen' trees on Halley avenue between Fir street and Spruce street are in full bloom.
The power cherry scouting on April 20 began with a look at the ‘Shiro-fugen’ previously posted by @Tao31 on Whitsell Avenue. I think Wendy was impressed by the wingspan on this tree.
