I live in Zone 6b. Are there any bulbs that I can plant now in my area, that will bloom this year, or do I now have to wait till the fall to plant spring bulbs, and the spring for fall bulbs next year?
there are some varieties of gladiola and iris that you can plant now for blooms later in the season (and they'll probably need to be pulled up and overwintered stored in the basement). some of the bearded iris that are re-bloomers could probably be planted now for the second bloom (and they can stay in the ground over winter). there are also fall-blooming crocus that can be planted now.
