Hi there's browning on several of the new leaves of my potted Shigitatsu Sawa. It was a mild winter here. No frost and temperatures have been on the cool side. It gets afternoon shade. Potting mix still moist. Any ideas?

Hi @SLR2009, how moist is the compost.? Browning of leaves is often a sign of over watering.

Slightly moist. I haven't needed to water it yet.

@SLR2009 , Ok how long has it been in that compost. I repot every two years as the compost literally disintegrates and the maple is left trying to survive in a pot of roots only.
You have your maple in the correct position, morning sun and afternoon shade, so you are looking at too much water, bad drainage or worn out compost. Other than that has there been a rogue frost this week? If all these things have been checked, you may have to put up with some browning this season then re pot in the Autumn/ winter.
Hope this is of some help.
