Since dropping a bunch of leaves back in March of this year (http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=37491) my kaffir lime tree has recovered somewhat, sprouting approximately 10-15 new leaves. Now I seem to be facing a new problem.

A few of the older leaves have developed brown splotches. They range in size from 1/4" to 1" in length and 1/4" across, and are found in the central parts of the leaves, not the edges. The splotches are brown and look like dead leaf. Only four leaves are affected at the moment, and those are all "original" leaves, i.e. not recently grown.

Is this normal? Perhaps those leaves are simply dying from old age? Or is it some kind of infestation, or nutrition/watering problem?

    Thanks for your help.

Citrus leaves only live for about 1-1 1/2 years, so it could be old age, but usually they just turn yellow and fall. Has the tree been exposed to direct sun more than normal--would those spots be where the sun was most intense.
