    what are the advantages and disadvantages of botanical garden. can i have a presentation on botanical gardens which includes why botanical gardens are made and what are their advantages and disadvantages.

    Thanks, Pierrot, for pointing out the interesting article. I would like to make two additional points. First, many botanical gardens are created by wealthy individuals primarily for their own enjoyment, then donated or bequeathed as public places. In this way they serve as a kind of living memorial to Dupont (Longwood Gardens), Phipps, Dawes, Butchart et al., who may wish to leave a legacy beyond chemicals, steel, oil or cement. Second, for most people (in North America, at least) a botanical garden is the only opportunity to experience and learn about a wide diversity of plant life, beyond the white pines, boxwoods and hostas that dominate our landscapes.
