I trust that someone in this forum can be of help to me. I am anxious to purchase for my son and daughter-in-law a gardening book. A year ago, they purchased a home in Port Moody with a quite well-established property. Neither had gardened to any extent and I have received many, many calls. Problem is that I live in Nova Scotia and my daughter-in-law's parents live in the Thunder Bay area. Could someone suggest to me a really good book suited to the Vancouver-area climate and one that would also be full of information on just about everything to novice gardeners. Greatly appreciated.

timber press also has some good regional titles. I second the sunset garden book as the first one for a local, good reference book for most things.
