'Cherry' Ingram: An homage to the British savior of Japan's cherry blossoms | The Japan Times
Thanks for posting this. The article was already a good read! Douglas Justice usually mentions "Cherry " Ingram when he introduces a 'Tai-haku' tree, so it's a name I know.
I have this book now and am reading it for the second time, wish I could learn the history and the names (where are those history receptors?). I'm enjoying not getting caught up on tree names - the ones used in the book are the same as Douglas Justice used in our Ornamental Cherries in Vancouver book (with a single hyphen difference). If you've ever seen cherry tree names on nursery tags, you'll know why that seems impressive to me.
