Does anyone have experience with inoculating blueberries with mycorrhizae? Apparently this is what makes blueberries and other ericaceae able to survive in their acidic and low nutrient natural habitat. Ironically, most commercial blueberry growers add a lot of soluble fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, cedar mulch etc... most of which could either kill or at least detach the mychorrhyzae from the blueberries? What I'm wondering is if it could be possible to eliminate or at least reduce the need for acidifying, fertilizer and water if the plants were inoculated.

If you have the wrong environment for blueberries you might have the wrong environment for the fungus also.

The tradition of planting blueberries in wetlands seems kind of curious because like most other heaths these can be prone to root rot.
