Blue Moon Flower

I was given a seed pod and told it was from a Blue Moon Flower. The pod is somewhat round and has spiky prickles. The seeds are small and black. Can anyone tell me about this plant? I have never heard of it before.

could it be a morning glory? Thats what it sounds like to me.

 

Definitely not a morning glory, I have some of those. Just don't know what to expect with this plant... what size? sun or shade? ... all that sort of stuff.

 

"Moon flower" is a common name sometimes used to refer to Datura or Brugmansia. Your description of the seed pod also fits Datura or Brugmansia.

I agree I thik its probably datura, by the discription of the pod.
I have several plants that are called moon flowers, Datura, Ipomea, and Hibiscus.
