In the boulevard plantings along the Mount Seymour Parkway (North Van) near the west end there is a string of larches that seem to have blue needles, rather than the usual green. Is this a defined cultivar or species? I can't find any reference to blue larches in the on-line databases I've looked at.
Welcome, @BEE89. Can you reply with any photos of the trees and closeups of the needles? Attach photos and files
Of the more familiar species Japanese larch produces bluish leaves. Larix kaempferi () description - The Gymnosperm Database (conifers.org) Otherwise Larix laricina does this also.
Agree that Japanese Larch is the most likely. Try to get close-up photos of any cones too, if you can.
