Here's some pics of what's going on with my maple. I tried to lay off the water since the soil seemed to stay moist so long but it seems like it only became worse. I'm lost i either water too much or too little. I was watering once a day and the leaves looked terrible. I worked with the soil removing some of the clay the roots were attached to and added more compost in its place and started watering only when the top 1" - 2"es of soil was dry approx once every 3-4 days now its the leaves are shriviling up even more. Maybe i need to water every 2-3 days? Take a look and see what you think. sorry the pics arnt great.
    thanks

It doesn't need compost, but a sandy, gritty, fast draining location.
