I have 2 coral bark maples that are about 2 years old. This spring the tips of the branches were black with no leaf growth so thinking it was winter die off, I pruned them off but the die off continues. I've pruned them a couple of times and and every few weeks I start to see more die off. Is this an infection of some sort?
Hi Slave, a discussion here may help www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=37156 Maybe not pruning low enough or unclean pruners. Could try taking it down to the next lower healthy looking branch, cleaning pruners between cuts.
