I have a friend he is getting interested in gardening, after a life in the military and a long military career, I want to know a good list of house plants to recommend for him to purchase, I gave him a sansevieria and he is very happy with it, any other suggestions.

Need a bit more info. What conditions does he have? Any windows? Amount of light is a big factor. Any likes or dislikes as far as size, shape, flowers? Christmas cactus is always nice, since it flowers. Mine are flowering right now. Figs are nice, as well as Palms. Spathiphyllum is nice too, and Spider plant. There really is a wide variety. Take a look at your local 'big box' store for cheap plants, or go to a garden centre/greenhouse that could give you help.
