In Alexandra Park, across from English Bay, is one of the largest Quercus rubra, Northern Red Oak, in Vancouver. In the same park are three Fagus sylvatica. Here are two of them. Down the road a bit, at the edge of Stanley Park, at the Parks Board Building, is this Fagus sylvatica 'Pendula'. I know I'm being a little over-enthusiastic about these new leaves.
