I was wondering when plants drink ? We have been watering in the am and at times pm . It occurred to me there may be a favourible time to water Plants seem to grow after a rain and a spell of hot weather . Rather than wasting water if there is a dormant time I thought I'd ask if there is a best time . Thanks.. Roger
some say water in the morning and others say water at night. as long as you provide water when the plants need it, it doesn't really matter if you do so at night or in the morning. the important thing is to provide if nature hasn't!!
I was somewhat aware of the disease problem . I guess what my question should have been is - Do plants have a dormant time ? Like a time to just sit back and reflect , take it easy , not have to worry about the task of growing and the endless sucking up water . Just kidding . Just a thought . I wonder if the tides have anything to do with growth ? Does the moon have any effect on water absorbtion ? Thanks . Roger
some plants do have dormant phases and shouldn't be watered during them. things like cacti and some succulents and some that have a caudex. generally, whatever you can plant outside will have a dormant phase during the winter months. they still need some amount of water, though, and nature usually provides just fine during the winter.
