I have Bergenia in the back garden. I have noticed some leaves are getting holes (looks like eaten by caterpillar but I cant see any caterpillars). Then this afternoon, I saw some snails though not too many. My question: are Bergenias and snails "good friends"? Could these snails be the culprit for the holes in the leaves?
Holes through the leaves could be slugs and snails, edges of the leaves with notch like holes could be vine weevil http://www.umassgreeninfo.org/fact_sheets/root_shoot_feeders/black_vine_weevil.html
